What You Need to Know

We’re looking to add a Payroll Specialist to the Finance & Accounting team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing various payroll functions, general accounting tasks and cash transactions to ensure smooth and compliant operations. This role will involve processing semi-monthly and out-of-cycle payrolls, calculating wage adjustments and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. The Specialist will also support the Finance team with general ledger postings, month-end closing activities, reconciliations and year-end processes.

What You’ll Do

The Payroll Specialist will be accountable to the Corporate Controller, the CFO and the VP Human Resources. In addition, this role will:

Payroll Processing:

  • Process semi-monthly and other out-of-cycle payrolls accurately and on schedule
  • Calculate and process wage adjustments, overtime, bonuses, commissions and other special payroll items
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll regulations, including tax withholding and reporting requirements
  • Record and reconcile payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness in alignment with company policies
  • Prepare and distribute payroll-related financial reports for management
  • Conduct regular audits and updates
  • Support year-end processes, including the preparation of W-2s and other tax documentation
  • Collaborate with HR on leave tracking, timekeeping and compliance with labor laws
  • Assist in developing and implementing payroll policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency

Cash Transactions:

  • Book daily cash transactions, including receipts, disbursements and transfers, ensuring proper recording in the general ledger
  • Reconcile cash accounts regularly and address any discrepancies promptly

Accounts Payable:

  • Assist in AP overflow and support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate on AP-related initiatives and provide backup coverage as needed

General Accounting:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate general ledger postings and resolve discrepancies
  • Perform accounting-related tasks, ensuring continuity and accuracy
  • Provide support for month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries

What You’ll Have

  • 3+ years’ experience working in ADP Workforce Now
  • Experience processing project payrolls is highly preferred
  • Strong proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now for Time and Attendance and Payroll is preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal and state payroll laws and tax regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft® Excel  
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality

  • Salary range: $65,000 – $75,000 annually. Note: Actual salary will depend on background and experience.
